Mentor Blogs

Diabetogenic By Renza Scibilia
For my first mentor blog I chose "Diabetogenic" by Renza Scibilla. The goal of her blog is to display "real life with diabetes", as she phrases it. In this blog, she includes a variety of things, such as diabetes news like her post recent post, as well as issues or concerns everyone may have, such as information sharing to third parties, but she finds a way to connect it to diabetes. For example, in her blog post about information sharing, she talks about how this concern is made bigger when it is her health information on the line. I think that her blog can make her seen as a mentor by showing people living with type one diabetes that you can still have a great future and life even with the disease, and that it does get better.

When I was searching for blogs to write about for my own blog post, I was looking for blogs that go hand in hand with my own interests. After highschool, I hope to go to college to become a physician assistant, so this blog really caught my eye. It is packed full of resources such as practice tests for the physician assistant exam, interview tips and tricks, essay help, and so much more. There are also posts on how to be the best physician assistant you can be, and it's all written by real physician assistants so you know you can trust the things on their page. I would consider this a mentor blog as the creators are helping you through the process with the resources they provide and encouraging you to be the best you can be.

A College Lifestyle Blog By Jessica Slaughter
For my final mentor blog, I chose A College Lifestyle Blog by Jessica Slaughter. I chose this blog for a number of reasons. For one, in the upcoming months I will be preparing to be a college student myself, and her blog is full of tips on dorm life, money and budgeting, studying, and organizational tips. I think that her blog was very well put together, and she has so many different ideas and posts for any situation. I think this constitutes as a mentor blog because she is guiding people and helping them with any questions they may have about the college lifestyle, and ideas on how to fix it.
